Dual Credit
Dual Credit
A freshman applicant is defined as one who has earned 15 hours or less of college credit after high school graduation. A transfer applicant is defined as one who has earned more than 15 hours of college credit after high school graduation.
College credit hours will be eligible for transfer credit in accordance with the EC transfer Guidelines document, if the hours were earned at a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Eligible college credit hours earned prior to high school graduation automatically transfer into EC’s 1000 or 2000 level courses. In the event that a freshman student’s transfer course is valued at EC as a 3000 or 4000 level course, that student will need to complete a “Petition for Policy Exception” form and document all requested information. Only equivalent 3000 and 4000 level courses taken prior to high school graduation must be reviewed through the petition process.
