COMM 1300 Principles
of Oral Communication
This course provides an overview of the process of
communication and introduces communication theory and practical training in the
fundamentals of effective presentation for individuals in both public speaking
and group communication settings. The class will discuss contemporary issues and analyze public
discourses. Limited enrollment available. Three credit hours.
ENGL 1300 English
Composition I
This is a general course focusing on
grammar, punctuation, spelling, careful analytical reading as well as
vocabulary building and short compositions. Writing is based on selected
readings, to include Biblical excerpts. Emphasis is placed on analytical thinking, critical reading,
organization and ethical incorporation of sources
Prerequisite: Pre-testing required. Limited enrollment

HIST 2310 U.S.
History I
This is a
survey of American political, social, and economic history from the colonial
era to the Civil War. Three credit hours.
LEAD 1300 Mentoring
Foundations: Grids for Life & Learning
The
purpose of this course is to introduce the student into a mentoring lifestyle
based on God and His ways that are applicable to all disciplines of life and
learning. Students are challenged to evaluate, digest, and practice the core principles that lead to excellence,
integrity, and order by adding to their faith virtue and to their virtue
knowledge. They study the “why,”
“what,” and “how to” for themselves and how to faithfully and effectively pass
along only what is good, pure, true, and wholesome to their world and the
oncoming generations. This course
is foundational to all students, faculty and prospective employees of Ecclesia
College. Three credit hours.
MATH 1000 Intermediate
Algebra
This course is designed for students
who need to improve their mathematical understanding and skills prior to taking
core curriculum at Ecclesia College. The course covers the fundaments of algebra, including simplification of
algebraic expressions, solving equations, and graphing techniques. Prerequisite: Pre-testing required. Limited enrollment available. Developmental course offered on demand
equivalent to three hours of credit; no college credit earned—however,
this course is highly recommended for building and/or strengthening confidence
in one’s mathematical knowledge.

REL 2300 Creationism
This course is a study of God’s initiative and the origin of life in light of the Bible, His revealed truth. Three credit hours.
SPAN 1310 Elementary
Spanish I
The first half of a course for
students desiring to begin a second language. This course includes intensive oral exercises as well as an
introduction to simple Spanish vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. The course is especially formatted to
train students in basic conversational Spanish as a tool in witnessing and includes
simple Scripture memorization. Three credit hours.
